Feature Friday | Aiko Cunanan

This week we are excited to feature Seattle-native & UB brand ambassador, Aiko Cunanan! Aiko has been pursuing her dreams to become an actress/model since she was a little girl. Her determination to be an entertainer brought her down to L.A., where she currently resides. Aiko also has a keen eye when it comes to fashion (as you can see below). 

Tell us about yourself in three sentences.

   Hello, my name is Aiko and I’ve always had a passion for fashion, traveling and modeling. I recently moved to Los Angeles, but Seattle will always be my home. To combine my love for fashion and modeling, I started a blog in July 2015 to be in my little creative bubble and to connect with people around the world, with the same interest as I do!

How did growing up in Seattle influence your style?

                Seattle is the number 1 reason why I love layering clothing items! With the constant weather change in Seattle, you have to be prepared for unexpected temperatures. Seattle has influenced me to wear scarves, cardigans, hats, and jackets! Now, it is in my everyday wardrobe!

What advice would you give to someone trying to break into the acting/modeling scene?

 The biggest advice I would give is to be persistent! There’s going to be some closed doors and no’s along the way, but never giving up and always working to be better at your craft every single day is key!

What piece of advice would you give to your younger self?

  Start early on building your dreams! Do everything your heart desires and put your all into it! Don’t let your circumstances or peers stop you from following whatever it is you are passionate about.

What (or who) inspires you?

                Definitely, my mom. She taught me at an early age to be compassionate, to work hard and be happy about the simple things in life.  In addition, she stood behind me and supported my dreams, goals and ideas without ever questioning me.

What is your favorite trend right now?

                My favorite trend right now is the lace-up trend! From flat shoes to heels, to skirts, to tops and dresses. I love them all.
